We promote public education in and appreciation of the performance, costume and music of European and other dances from the 15th to 20th centuries as recorded in the literature of the period. To support this we produce and allow access to a variety of resources – music, videos and articles – to help individuals further their knowledge and appreciation of early dance.
Our YouTube channel hosts a variety of dance tutorials, webinars and videos on dances from the Renaissance, Baroque to the 20th century as researched from historical sources.
We publish a journal featuring contributions from specialists in historical dance and music. To access current and past editions, or find out more about submitting to the journal visit our page.
A collection of useful resources we’ve gathered, including links to other historical dance groups across the world, and other sites of interest.
